What to think about when Booking your Newborn Photography Session

One thing I have found in my experiences as a mother is that time has a way of passing by very quickly.  Sometimes I look around my home at pictures of my child and have difficulty believing that she is no longer a little baby.  She is becoming more and more of her own person each day.  With the chaos and stress of everyday life, it can often be challenging to hold onto those special newborn/baby moments that are moving farther and farther away from the present time.  This is why newborn photography is so significant.  It provides documentation of those moments when your infant first came into the world.  These are incredible visual stories to hold onto forever.  I want to take the time to provide a bit more information on my Chattanooga newborn sessions for those who are expecting, just had a baby, or thinking of expanding your family. Even if you know someone who is expanding their family, please feel free to share!

Book Early

Let’s face it, 2020 was so stressful and insane.  However, something beautiful that seems to have come out of it is that there are a crazy amounts of babies coming into the world!  There is for sure a surge! I mean what else were we going to do stuck at home under quarantine for so long? Lol.  All jokes aside, as you potentially prepare for your new baby, do not forget to get your photographer booked ahead of time.  There is so much to prepare for, and this may not be an item not on your checklist.  It is understandable with all the things needed for a baby, but photographers tend to book up faster than a lot of people realize.  I know I do! Please put this item on your to do list!

Sharing Photos is more important than ever!

Newborn photography has also become even more necessary this year due to the pandemic.  While things are for sure improving, you may not be quite comfortable (thanks pandemic) to have your newest and cutest family addition meet all your friends and family. I am so honored to have the privilege to help you show off your new family to your circle of people. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, college roommates have an opportunity to feel like they are meeting your cutie through newborn photos.  They also make fantastic birth announcements!

Cleaning & Safety

I also get that parents may feel hesitant to bring their new baby into a photography studio.   I want clients to feel confident and to trust me as their photographer.  To avoid any potential germs,  I am deep cleaning our studio, the props, and laundering all items in-between each client. Rest assured that you and your little love are entering a clean, safe space.  Additionally, I am full vaccinated. Even with the vaccination though, I still believe it is important to offer my clients additionally protection and I am wearing an N-95 mask during each session.  Lastly, as a mom I know it can be a little nerve wrecking having someone you may not have met before handling your new baby.  I certainly would have felt like that as a first time mom!  That being said, I am safety trained in handling infants for newborn posing.
