An Interview with Brittany

I recently filled out an interview for Every Last Detail Wedding Blog and wanted to share it with my clients as insight to what makes me & my services as a wedding photographer unique.

Do you see yourself as Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

I consider my personal photography style modern, however, I adapt depending upon each couple’s interests. I love bright colors and creative angles, but also appreciate classic black and white. With every shot I keep in mind the personalities of the people in front of the camera.

What's your favorite wedding detail?

My favorite wedding detail to photograph is definitely the wedding rings. I love that they share the symbolism of unending love, yet are slightly different with each couple. Two rings offer a glimpse into the couple’s unique love story.

What's your favorite store or brand?

I love stumbling upon used bookstores tucked in almost hidden spaces. It always seems like they’re just waiting for people to discover the treasures found within. Each book has been loved by someone in someway, and I love imagining where each story has traveled.

What advice do you have for the newly engaged bride?

Enjoy the journey. Don’t let stress weight you down. This is your day, and what matters most is seeing your new husband or wife’s smile spread across their face. Remember this day is about celebrating love and everything will fall into place.

What is your favorite part about weddings?

My favorite part of a wedding is the flood of emotions involved with starting a new chapter in your life. Whether it’s an elopement or a wedding extravaganza, its always special for everyone…including me!

What qualities do you have that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?

My personable approach to my work fuses a bridge of trust between myself and the bride and groom. I take the time to get to know the couples I work with. The connection between the photographer and the bride and groom is essential. This bond allows the couple to feel at ease in front of the camera. Understanding the couple’s needs also allows me to plan my style of shooting. I want to make sure the couple is completely satisfied with my work.

What steps do you take to ensure your clients will have an amazing wedding day when working with you.

I always sit down with couple I’m working with to find out more about their personalities and expectations. Once I’ve gotten to know a couple and discover their wedding day dreams, I go to work planning a shot list and schedule. At the wedding, a plan of action always helps me capture a myriad of memories.
